I may be some time
Said Ex, who, due to my gracious manners shall remain nameless, chose what might be described as the easy way out. His manners were not so gracious. We’d been living together for some time – close to a year. One Saturday I woke early, adoringly tickled his back for a few minutes and then headed off to the gym. When I returned, less than two hours later, he was gone. He had booked a flight to America, packed all his belongings and left a rather ridiculous note on the bed. It read “I’ve gone on an adventure. I may be some time so I’ve taken all my things”. Surely “I may be some time” is the kind of thing you say when you're off to the toilet post xmas dinner!! Needless to say, he is still on his adventure a year later. Icing on the cake... he did it a week before my birthday. Kind of a dramatic way to get out of buying me a birthday present, wouldn't you say?
